Fundamentals of Roadway Geometric Design is an ATAP series of online learning courses. Each course consists of a one-hour video that can be viewed on your time, anytime! This series includes five courses.
Course 2 (Design Factors and Other Considerations) presents a detailed discussion of the factors that a road designer must consider in making decisions early in the design process. These decisions pertain to key design elements that govern the design process and selection of criteria for alignment and cross-sectional elements. This course will be useful as a refresher for the seasoned road designer. It will also provide insight for other transportation professionals into the decisions that a road designer must make early in the design process.
