Power Quality addresses issues related to the degradation electrical power quality, its causes, its impact on equipment, and its remedies. The course is designed for those who are concerned with the operation and control of electrical power systems, including plant engineers and technicians, utility and consulting engineers, and manufacturers and sales representatives.

This course is the third in the Power Quality series, and explores the causes and monitoring of harmonics. The concept of harmonics is reviewed and the fact that there a lot of other frequencies in the power wave form than just 60 hertz. Once you know the frequency content of a wave form you can then take steps to remove those frequencies that are undesirable. Harmonics and/or undesirable frequency bands can be reduced or removed, with filter circuits. Harmonic calculations, graphs, and case studies are utilized in this course.

Power Quality series: 12 hours – 1.2 CEUs
    - Power Quality: Fundamentals (V11J) three hours
    - Power Quality: 60 Hz voltage problems (V11K) three hours
    - Power Quality: Harmonics in power systems (V11L) three hours
    - Power Quality: Transients (V11M) three hours

Successfully complete all 4 courses within a two year time period and receive a Power Quality Series Certificate to acknowledge your competence in this topic area.

Purchase Options: Each course can be purchased separately.
