This course provides an overview of bicycle and pedestrian facilities. This course can serve as a refresher or update on key planning, safety, and design issues pertaining to human-powered transportation modes for the practicing transportation engineer and planner. The material is divided into three basic topics: an overview of safety, mode usage, and evolution of federal policies, basic design concepts and considerations for pedestrians, and basic design concepts and considerations for bicyclists.
